Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Flipbook (the “Service”), including the browser extension, the desktop application, and the capture-credit system. By installing or using Flipbook you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Flipbook does
Flipbook captures your screen, a window, or a browser tab on a timer, saving frames when the content changes and tiling them into montages. Captured files are stored on your own device.
2. Capture credits
- A capture is one saved take, from start to stop, that produced at least one frame. A take that saved no frames is not charged.
- Every user receives 200 capture credits free. After that, the browser extension requires credits to save further captures.
- Credits are sold in one-time packs of 1,000 for US$5. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
- Credits do not expire. They are tied to your device and are non-transferable, except that a license key issued with your purchase lets you restore your credits on another device.
- Credit metering is designed to fail open: if our service is temporarily unreachable, the extension will let you keep capturing and reconcile your balance later. We may correct balances affected by error or abuse.
- The free Windows desktop application is not credit-metered.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments acting as our Merchant of Record. Your purchase is a transaction with Dodo, who handles billing, applicable taxes, and refunds on our behalf. Prices are shown in US dollars and may exclude taxes that Dodo adds at checkout. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Acceptable use
- Only capture content you have the right to capture. Do not use Flipbook for unlawful surveillance or to record people or material without a lawful basis.
- Do not resell, sublicense, or attempt to transfer credits except as expressly permitted.
- Do not attempt to circumvent, tamper with, or defraud the credit-metering system.
- Do not use the Service in violation of any applicable law or of Dodo Payments’ acceptable-use rules.
5. Software license
The Service is licensed to you, not sold. The desktop application is open-source under the MIT license; your use of the browser extension is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for as long as you comply with these terms. Anything you capture belongs to you.
6. Availability & “as is”
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data stored on your device.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or engage in fraud or abuse. Unused credits associated with terminated-for-abuse accounts may be forfeited.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date and take effect when posted. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer rights you have in your own country.
